As a healthcare and educational meeting facility, the safety and health of our community are always of the utmost importance to us.
Since opening our doors 25 years ago, the OLC has been compliant with the standards, rules and regulations per the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act of 1970.

As such, that means we are subject to strict federal regulations and sanitation standards. In addition to ensuring worker and workplace safety, OSHA health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, and cover everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to the meeting rooms and common area cleaning procedures.

Specifically, the OLC:

  • Maintains and performs regular housekeeping practices, including daily and nightly cleanings, using hospital-grade disinfectants
  • Provides staff members with uniforms and personal protection equipment (at no cost to the staff) that fits, offers appropriate protection and is commercially cleaned and sanitized
  • Has an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan in place
  • Uses color codes, safety signs, labels, and posters to alert staff and attendees of potential hazards
  • Properly and safely maintains and cleans all equipment and tools in the facility
  • Utilizes an HVAC system that uses 100% outside air and MERV 14 filtration
  • Is subject to regular inspections from OSHA compliance officers
  • Provides ongoing safety training to all employees

Following recent changes to guidelines and recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) and in partnership with our local and state health departments, the OLC has added additional measures and precautions to protect and maintain the health and safety of guests and staff:

  • Additional alcohol-based hand sanitation stations have been placed throughout the venue
  • Increased the frequency of surface cleaning, including high-touch areas, during the workday
  • Providing disposable, disinfectant wipes to routinely sanitize commonly used surfaces
  • Continuing to adhere to the recommendations outlined in the U.S. EPA’s Emerging Pathogen Policy regarding effective cleaning disinfectants
  • Working with our industry food partners to provide individually packaged food and beverage items

As additional recommendations emerge or guidelines change, the OLC will continue to enhance our preparedness and protection measures. For additional information, please contact us.

As a healthcare and educational event facility, the safety and health of our community are always of the utmost importance to us.

Per ever-changing guidelines and recommendations from the World Health Organization, U.S. Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC), and Illinois Governor Priitzker’s office, all face-to-face events until April 30, 2020, at the OLC Education & Conference Center have been postponed.

During this time, the OLC’s Broadcast Video Studio is available for livestreaming. Please contact us for information about booking the studio.

We stand with the broader meeting and event community during a time when our industry is being profoundly affected.

From the entire team at the OLC, we express our heartfelt support to our friends and colleagues across the globe in the meetings and events industry. We are also grateful for all of those on the frontlines protecting and keeping us safe and healthy.

In times like these, we believe more than ever in helping others collaborate, educate and innovate.

One thing our team has done is to give back to our local communities. To support healthcare providers, caregivers and first responders, in March 2020, we proudly donated a carload of personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies to Northwest Community Hospital / Healthcare and the Village of Rosemont Public Safety.
