OLC’s event management team are corporate and association meeting planning and medical/surgical education specialists, drawing on nearly 50 years of professional experience to handle all of your meeting or event needs. We customize to meet your needs including hybrid meetings with a smaller number of in-person attendees and HD livestreaming to a larger audience who may not be able to travel.

Whether the goal is to produce a laboratory skills training for medical professionals, a corporate offsite or a livestream educational event viewed internally or worldwide, the OLC event management team works with you to create and facilitate an ideal learning and meeting environment.

As CEO of the OLC Education & Conference Center, Lisé manages and oversees day-to-day operations. She has worked in the meetings and event industry for more than 20 years, with extensive experience in event planning and education management, including serving as the global event strategist for the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), senior vice president of event services at SmithBucklin, and working at AT Kearney and the Chicago Convention Bureau.

Ellen Kaimakis - OLC Lab Manager

Ellen began her career in the healthcare industry, working in sales support, bio-skills events and planning meetings. A former client who hosted medical education events at the OLC for over 15 years, Ellen joined when the opportunity arose to direct lab events and manage the lab team. She enjoys working with clients to address the ever-changing needs of medical education and meetings. Ellen also recently completed a Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certification program so that she help ensure our clients are aware of and remain in compliance with the latest healthcare meeting compliance regulations throughout the event planning process. Ellen spends her time outside of the lab working on her micro-farm and making home-grown salsa and garlic powder.

Kathy knows the importance of strategic pre-planning to deliver a meeting beyond expectations, having served as a medical meeting planner before joining the OLC. She uses her experience to find the best ideas and solutions to achieve the desired goals on-budget and on-schedule. Kathy’s love of everything outdoors has taken her to 29 of the U.S. national parks – exactly half-way to her goal of visiting all 58.

Working behind the scenes at the OLC for the last four years, Josh ensures all meeting and event orders are followed to a “T” – determining the best set-up and timeline, managing the execution, and directing final tear-down and clean-up. Josh’s extensive background includes mortuary science experience and is a published author who collects and restores old video games.

Jimmy Konrad - OLC Operations Coordinator

Jimmy manages the “front of the house” for the OLC, serving as a key client liaison before, during, and after meetings on critical details including food & beverage, AV, room set, and more. He says, “I love working with my clients and having the ability to learn something new each day.” In his quest to help OLC clients, Jimmy recently became a certified Digital Event Strategist, which allows him to provide our virtual, hybrid and livestream event clients with the tools and knowledge to maximize digital engagement and success of their events. A pediatric cancer survivor, Jimmy also says being a part of the OLC “gives you feelings that you are part of the greater good.”

Michael helps to manage the set-up and run of show for medical labs at the OLC, coordinating details and lab equipment needs. He also supervises the venue’s rigorous preparedness and protections to maintain a clean and safe environment across all spaces. In support of ensuring the facility meets the ‘gold standard’ for cleanliness and disease prevention, Michael also recently became a certified GBAC-Trained technician, and led our effort to become and maintain our GBAC® STAR™ facility accreditation. A long-time health and wellness enthusiast, he enjoys seeing first-hand new medical innovation and technique trainings at the OLC.

Brynn Kanan

As part of the OLC’s team, Brynn is responsible for assisting our clients in the planning and execution of the labs themselves and all lab equipment needs. She has a Bachelor of Science-Kinesiology from Northern Illinois University, and before joining our team, she was a Personal Care Assistant for the State of Illinois, Department of Human Services. As a new OLC team member Brynn looks forward to meeting and working with our clients to make all of their experiences here be exceptional. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her dog – a Rottweiler-Beagle mix that she rescued – when she isn’t in her Pilates class.
