PREPAREDNESS AND PROTECTION AT THE OLC
As a healthcare and educational meeting facility, the safety and health of our community are always of the utmost importance at OLC Education & Conference Center.
Since opening our doors over 30 years ago, the OLC Education and Conference Center has been compliant with the standards, rules and regulations per the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act of 1970.
As such, that means we are subject to strict federal regulations and sanitation standards. In addition to ensuring worker and workplace safety, OSHA health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses and cover everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to the meeting rooms and common area cleaning procedures.
THE OLC IS GBAC STAR™ ACCREDITED !
In December of 2020, the OLC achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ facility accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, OLC has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its meeting, education and medical training facilities
Specifically, the OLC:
- Maintains and performs regular housekeeping practices, including daily and nightly cleanings, using hospital-grade disinfectants
- Provides staff members with uniforms and personal protection equipment (at no cost to the staff) that fits, offers appropriate protection and is commercially cleaned and sanitized
- Has an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan in place
- Uses color codes, safety signs, labels, and posters to alert staff and attendees of potential hazards
- Properly and safely maintains and cleans all equipment and tools in the facility
- Utilizes an HVAC system that uses 100% outside air and MERV 14 filtration
- Is subject to regular inspections from OSHA compliance officers
- Provides ongoing safety training to all employees
ADDITIONAL HEALTH SAFETY MEASURES – CDC GUIDELINES
Following recent changes to guidelines and recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) and in partnership with our local and state health departments, the OLC continues additional measures and precautions to protect and maintain the health and safety of guests and staff:
- All electronic check-in processes and waivers
- No current mask requirements
- Implementation of Electrostatic Disinfection, a forensic spraying that uses Multi-Clean Century Q 256 to ensure all surfaces are wrapped with EPA registered, hospital-grade disinfectant
- Additional alcohol-based hand sanitation stations placed throughout the venue
- Providing disposable, disinfectant wipes to routinely sanitize commonly used surfaces
- Working with our industry food partners to provide individually packaged food and beverage options as needed
OLC has various virtual alternatives in place for attendees that may not feel comfortable with in-person meetings yet. We are experienced with online participation using various video streaming and Web conference software. There is also a state-of-the-art broadcast studio, where meetings can be livestreamed or recorded for future use.
Please contact us for information about in-person and hybrid meetings or booking the studio.
